We were thrilled to partner with Morton’s Steakhouse in King of Prussia for their Open House, held on July 18, 2019. The theme this year was Christmas In July, but of course we wanted to showcase the private dining and conference rooms not just for Christmas, but all types of celebrations all year round. Our challenge was to create two table designs that would transform the look and feel of the private dining rooms, while staying true to Morton’s classic look.
We first helped Morton’s welcome their guests to this invitation-only event with a red carpet and red velvet rope stanchions at the entrance, giving guests that VIP feeling from their first steps. We then transformed the private dining area with two festive looks, Holiday Gold and Holiday Luxe. Both of these designs used a restricted color palette in order to turn the focus toward the rich fabric textures, on-trend colored glassware, and unique dinnerware.
The Holiday Gold design starts with a Velvet white table linen, and all linen accents are in a deep Garnet color. The center of the table featured Crinkle-textured runners with Crushed Velvet runners ruched on top. These two different fabric textures were chosen to reflect and shine in Morton’s dinner lighting, and they look great in candlelight as well. The table settings were in all gold and white, and that extra golden gleam of the flatware and tinted wine glasses completed the celebratory feel.
The Holiday Luxe design used a modern palette of silver, grey, and deep aubergine. The table linen was a pale silver Bengaline, and the center of the table featured a Satin aubergine runner with silver mini-sequin runners ruched narrowly on top of it. The mini-sequin runner and the hammered-texture flatware were the only reflective items used in this design; we chose satin-finish items for everything else to convey the modern look, even down to the grey satin Heirloom dinner plates.
